Frequently asked questions

Does this lens fit my lamp?

Matching works via series and diameter – both are in the product title (e.g. 152 mm for the 851X series). If in doubt, measure the diameter of your old lens or send our service team the model number from the type plate – they will name the right lens for you.

Does it matter which way round I insert the lens?

No – the orientation of the lens plays no role during installation; top and bottom are equivalent.

Can I install a different dioptre strength than before?

The springs in the articulated arm are factory-tuned to the weight of the installed lens. Swapping for the same strength is straightforward; with a heavier or lighter lens the arm can lose its balance and needs readjusting.

Crystal clear or standard – what is the difference?

Standard glass lenses have a minimal green tint that usually goes unnoticed while working. The crystal-clear version is colour-neutral – the right choice when you need to judge colours, for example in cosmetics, print or electronics.

How do I clean the lens properly?

Use a soft, lint-free cloth – slightly dampened with mild glass cleaner for heavier soiling. Avoid abrasives and aggressive cleaners, as they can scratch the surface.

The lens reflects – is that normal and what helps?

Reflections on the lens are physically normal, especially with glossy objects and bright light sources behind you. Usually it already helps to swivel the lamp head slightly or change the angle between light, object and viewing direction – on dimmable models, also reduce the brightness a little.
